2009 has been an interesting year, both personally and musically. Musically I have moved away from psytrance and into techno / electro, not to say I don't still enjoy spinning or listening to psytrance but I decided to explore some different genres. I was happy to play a fetish night for the first time in 2009 as it allowed me to break into a new audience with the new techno/electro music I started to explore. As I reflect back on the year I played mostly DJ gigs and not as many live shows as the venues for live acts started to dry up with the closing of Savage Garden and Funhaus. I did a DJ / live gig with DJ Pale which has so far been an interesting journey that we both seem to be happy with. I will wrap up the year with a New Years gig @ the Subspace Fetish night being held at the Reverb and then I spin some psytrance @ the 40 Dark Rave shortly after, this will probably be the last time I spin at the Reverb before it closes at the end of January. 2010 will prove to be an interesting year as many of the venues I have spun at over the past 5 or 6 years will now be closed however I am sure something will come up. Overall, I am happy with what I have accomphished musically, both as a live musician and a DJ, I hope to continue to explore new music and challenge myself musically as the scene change and as I change.

Happy 2010 everyone!

I know it has been a while since I posted but that doesn't mean I haven't been doing any music. I played a Halloween gig at a Subspace Fetish party with a packed dance floor and was really happy with how the gig turned out. It looks like they were  happy with me as well and they asked me to play the New Years Fetish party. New Years is one of those nights I don't usually play but I think it will be alot of fun. I enjoy playing Fetish night because I can play some new music I have been collecting, mainly techno and electro. I always wanted to play a fetish event just to try something different. it is a very different crowd with very different music tastes in music than the psytrance that I have mainly been spinning for the past 4 years or so. I like to challenge myself with music, and I saw this as a little test to see if I could break into a crowd with a brand new type of music they have possibly never heard before and see if I could get them moving on the dancefloor, and it worked.

On another note, I am sad to see the Big Bop close, not because I particularly like the venue but because it is the last big place that alternative events had in the city to be hosed. I played many gigs @ Reverb, including opening for Flesh Field, a few Dark Raves, some Fetish events and others. The alternative scene has taken a large blow these past 2 years with the closing of Funhaus and Savage Garden. It remains to be seen what will happen with the scene, all I know is it is a very challenging time and it will be interesting to see what comes out of all of this.

Hope to see you all on NYE!!!!
